DescriptionTea table; rectangular overhanging top with thumbnail molded edge; ogee shaped skirt on all sides; four straight turned legs, square in section at top alongside skirt, rest of leg rounded and tapering to pad feet; top possibly replaced.
Label TextStylistically, this table appears similar to pieces made in both the Chesapeake region of Virginia and in England, offering an opportunity to explore the transmission of construction techniques and stylistic details between trading centers in Colonial America. The history of ownership in Bermuda in the Tucker family, some branches of which lived in Virginia during the colonial era, provide further research avenues into the economic and material ties between the colonies and the West Indies.
