DescriptionCream-colored earthenware cove-molded frame press molded with beaded border surrounds a circular plaster inset, finely transfer printed with "East View of Nottingham Castle" taken from Paul Sandby's original drawing and published in William Watts' Seats of the Nobility and Gentry.Label TextOnly a handful of transfer printed plaster plaques bearing their integral creamware frames survive and these scarce objects are mainly associated with the Cambrian Pottery of Haynes, Dillwyn and Company in Wales. Many of the individuals associated with that pottery had connections with Philadelphia and it is clear from the documentary evidence that the Cambrian Pottery was exporting wares to the young United States.
