DescriptionCandlestick: cylindrical socket with fillet molding below rim, mid-band at middle of straight-sided center section, and multiple molding above cupped lower section; main section of stem of inverted-baluster form and of square section with quarter-round corner indentations; banding above and below flattened knop below; base of stem flaring to circular well with molded edge in top of base of square plan with quarter-round corner indentations and short inclined stepped and molded sides. Stem cast in two parts vertically and base in one. Set number "I" in Roman numerals engraved on underside of base.InscribedNone.
MarkingsBritannia standard. Maker's marl "GR" in black letters with a crown above within a shaped reserve, lion's head erased, Britannia, and date letter on underside of base of each. (Maker's mark partially indistinct).
