DescriptionJug: bulbous hour-glass form with slightly flared spout opposite acanthus leaf molded handle; the side each transfer printed in red with rococo borders of hunting trophies each encircling scenes of cock fighting; one side depicts two cockerels wearing cockspurs on a woven mat, one cockerel triumphant over the other which lies dead; the second print with a single cockerel wearing spurs and proudly standing on a plot of ground with small tufts of grass; the base of the jug reveals a small "dry" area often associated with early creamware.
