DescriptionFour piece silver partial coffee and tea service comprised of coffeepot; teapot; cream pot; and waste bowl. Each piece with a circular pedastal foot with faceted milled border of leaf deign supporing a globular body with faceted milled border at shoulder of leaf and oval design. Coffee and teapots with incuring necks beneath hinged incurving lids with finials in the form of a seated hound; original (?) wooden handles with scrolled foliate silver sockets. Cream pot with broad everted pouring lip and high C-scrolled silver handle. Waste bowl with two silver handles in the shape of a griffin's head with a ring in its mouth. All pieces are engraved with blank shields framed by olive branches and surmounted by foliate wreaths. Shoulders of tea and coffee pots also engraved with swags of grapes and grape leaves.
MarkingsMarked in relief on foot of teapot, cream pot, and waste bowl: 1) "CHAUDRON & RASCH" in a banner; and 2) "STER AMERI MADE" in a banner with pellets in between words. Note that the coffee pot is unmarked
