DescriptionDecanter: blue lead glass mallet-shaped decanter with sloping shoulder rising to elongated neck with tooled rim and original upright facetted stopper.Label TextMid-18th century blue glass was of a deep blue color very different from the bright royal blue glass of the late 18th and 19th centuries. This decanter has parallels in the Williamsburg archaeological record with fragments of British blue glass decanter necks turning up at the Geddy, Chiswell, and Anderson sites.
