Label TextThis print is one in a set of five prints depicting allegorical representations of the arts and sciences including: Architecture, Astronomy, Painting, Poetry, and Sculpture. This scene represents sculpture. The outdoor workshop of a group of sculpture is shown. In the left corner a young boy works at a wheel getting the tools in proper shape for use. Just behind him one young man works at carving a female statue. Next to this group another man works at a fugure resting on a slab. A young gentleman and lady watch these people at work. Many other pieces of sculpture are to be seen around the garden.
