DescriptionPrime Minister Lord North, with the Boston Port Bill in his pocket, pours tea down the throat of America, a draped Native female figure whose arms are held back by Lord Chief Justice Mansfield. Lord Sandwich holds down her feet and peers up her skirt while Britannia turns her head and weeps.

This print was first published on May 1, 1774, in the London Magazine. It was quickly copied by Paul Revere and printed one month later in June by I. Thomas, Boston, for the Royal American Magazine, or Universal repository of instruction and amusement. Numerous copies have been made of this print.
Inscribed"L.M." in the upper margin stands for the "London Magazine." This print was published in the magazine on May 1, 1774.
