DescriptionOval, soft-paste porcelain dish with a scalloped rim and molded shell decoration in relief on either side. On the left side of the dish is a red and gold dragon twisted around a turquoise bamboo branch with blue and turquoise flowers. There are gold and red chrysanthemums that grow from a blue branch growing at the base of the bamboo branch. On the right side of the dish, there is a red tiger. All of the decoration is painted overglaze.

Label TextExamples of this shape were taken from Sprimont silver prototypes (see accession 1962-53). Used in conjunction with sauceboats like accession 1962-38, they may be the "sauceboats and plates, silver-shaped" that appear frequently in the 1755 catalog.
