ProvenanceJudging by the brands beneath the top, this table once belonged to Peter Edmund Elmendorf (1764-1835). It may be the "Cherry Stand very old" listed in the inventory of his estate taken in 1836 (See copy in OF). It probably descended to his daughter Maria who married Peter Sanders; to their son Charles P Sanders, to his son Charles P. Sanders II; to their son J. Glen Sanders whose widow Pearl sold it with the rest of the Scotia furnishings to the Vendor.
