DescriptionDesk: Made in two parts; Upper section has flat top with slanted, hinged lid which when open is supported by two slides which pull out from base: interior composed of a central section made up of five drawers and four pigeonholes over large, lower compartment which once housed a drawer; either side of central section a smaller area contains two pigeonholes above three stepped graduated drawers; all drawers open with original brass ring pulls; inside of fall front lid recessed and lined with green baize; small serpentine raised molding at bottom of slant lid on exterior; each side of upper section contians one large brass pull and back plate; projecting, flared, canted corners at front of upper section; Lower section: follows outline of lower part of top secton with molded upper edge to receive upper section; single, full-length drawer at front, molded on outside edge with two brass pulls and central escutcheon; canted front legs molded on outside surface; legs have chanelled sides and chamfered rear edges; rear legs "square" in section, deeply chamfered on inside edge; all four legs rest on original leather and brass casters.Woods: Primary: Mahogany, Secondary: Deal interior framing, Oak back of upper and lower sections and interior of drawers.
