DescriptionAppearance: Utility Table: Flat top composed of three boards with battened ends; molded braces beneath top on either side with holes to accommodate pins to secure top to frame; molded skirt with scalloped edge; three drawers in front - center drawer wider than two side drawers; four ring and baluster turned legs which extend through stretchers and terminate in molded pad feet. Four stretchers each composed of horizontal board laid over a vertical board.Construction: front rail, sides, and back are tenoned into the legs and pegged; vertical drawer dividers are tenoned into the top of the lower front rail and underside of the top rail; drawer supports and integral guides are half lapped onto the lower front rail and tenoned into the backboard; the outer drawer supports are notched around the legs; the inner drawer supports are notched around the vertical drawer dividers; upright rectangular stretchers are tenoned into the legs and pinned; flat molded stretchers are pinned to the top of the structural stretchers, notched around and into the legs, and have mitered joints at the corners; top is comprised of multiple boards tongue and groove joined (or mortise and tenoned and pinned) to breadboard ends; battens are attached under the top at each end; two removable wooden pins per end join the battens to the table sides; drawers have traditional dovetail construction, a chamfered drawer bottom in a dado in the drawer front and sides, nailed to the underside of the back.
Woods: Primary: walnut, Secondary: tulip poplar - two drawer bottoms and drawer runners, red pine - one drawer bottom, oak or chestnut - drawer sides and back and bottom members of stretchers.
