This print is one of a set of twelve published by Thomas Burford after the work of James Seymour (see 1956-122,A and 1956-124,A for other prints in this collection from CW's collection). The print is based on Seymour's painting "The Stables and Two Famous Running Horses belonging to His Grace, the Duke of Bolton" painted in 1747 in the collection of the Yale Center for British Art.
