DescriptionCoffeepot of unusual size and good weight. Fully developed rococo form, having a tall, double-bellied, baluster-shaped body with a double-domed cover and a tall circular base. Plain body, like most examples of this date, providing an effective contrast to the highly decorative spout and handle sockets. It is of fully developed rococo form, having a tall, double-bellied, baluster-shaped body with a double domed cover and a tall circular base. The body, like most examples of this date, is plain, providing an effective contrast to the highly decorative spout and handle sockets. A coffeepot of similar size and identical design of the same year by Crump was sold at auction in New York in 1959.

MarkingsFully marked on underside of base with leopard's head, lion passant, "F C" and date letter "A" for 1756/57. Lion passant also on interior of cover.
