DescriptionPatch box: oval copper patch box with shallow domed lid enamelled white and surrounded by molded copper mount with small projection (finger lift) at center front; lid hinged at back and fits tightly over narrow copper collar which surmounts base of box; interior of lid fitted with oval piece of glass which, before mercury precipitated, served as mirror; box section oval in shape with inward tapering sides and flat bottom; base enamelled light blue outside and white inside; top decorated with band of blue leaves near edge with the following inscription transfer printed in black in the center: "May the / Rights of Man / Never be / Invaded by the / Power of / KINGS".Inscribed"May the / Rights of Man / Never be / Invaded by the / Power of / KINGS" transfer printed on lid.
