DescriptionInkwell of cylindrical form with small kick out at base forming foot and reasonably flat shoulder demarcated with an incised bead. The shoulder with five equidistantly spaced round holes. The short collar and everted mouth at center. The foot ring rectangular. The decoration in overglaze polychrome enamels. The holes on the shoulder painted to resemble the centers of flowers. The sides of the well painted in one continual scene, comprising a man sitting a table and writing (incidentally employing an inkwell comparable to the object itself) in a park landscape with a large red building with blue-gray roof in the background. A fence divides the structure from the man. At the other side, another man and his dog look at a blue and green bird flying over the fence. Trees and foliage separate the two men.Inscribednone
