DescriptionBread basket. Oval basket with flaring sides and rolled over at top to form wavy edge; sides pireced in two bands of trellis design. Sides are rolled over at bottom to connect with base; base domed in center with steep foot; foot rolled over at bottom edge. Pierced, swinging bail handle with rolled edges riveted to sides of basket.
Basket has deep crimson ground with gilded borders on exterior: a double line paralleling wavy top edge, a single line between areas of trellis piercing, a double line above and a single line below junction of sides and bse, and a single line above rolled edge of foot.
