Label TextInterior scene with three men, one sits on a ladderback chair, smoking a pipe with a mug in his right hand, another sits at the end of a tavern table smoking a pipe, a mug sits on the table in front of the man; the other man sits in a matching rush-or woven bottom ladderback chair at the other end of the table, holding a pipe in his left hand and raising a mug to his lips with the right hand. A spotted dog lies at his feet. A gun and lighted candle are on the table; an almanac and print of a woman are nailed to the wall. A framed painting of two horses and riders also hangs on the wall. The room also has a fireplace which appears not have a fire lighted in it.
