Label TextMade specifically for chopping rectangular slots for “mortice and tenon” joints, these chisels had thick blades with a steep bevel and a narrower cutting edge. Their extra strength was needed to lever out chips of wood from within the deepening mortice.
MarkingsBlade marked "FREETH" in raised letters within a crenelated rectangular cartouche. Handle marked "Wm.EYDEN" twice.
