DescriptionCircular box canteen made up of two flat, circular white pine sides connected by continuous hickory side strip that overlaps and is fastened with original nails near top; small circular hole at top; three bands of leather, to hold strap, nailed to side (one is missing except for ends); entire box covered with original light blue paint; "J. W." painted in white on one side between two small, white leaves.
Inscribed"J.W." painted on one side of canteen.
