DescriptionTrunk: Front edge of lid to rear joint with base one piece leather, held by iron and brass nails; front one piece leather; entire trunk bounded at outer edges by hide strips held by decorative brass stud nails; brass bail handle on center top with oval brass rosettes, surrounded by large oval ring of pinked scalloped hide held by brass stud nails; leather flap 1 5/8" wide around chest protects lid edge at juncture with body, flap strip dark hide with strip of pinked scallops held by brass stud nails at upper flap edge; black painted iron lock and plate; pine base with pine plain molding strip front and rear; interior completely covered in hand done paper of small blue dots on white; leather hinge straps; fabric tapes nailed inside sides and lid on both ends.Inscribed"$2.50" written in white chalk on underside.
