DescriptionLooking glass; rectangular frame with gessoed leaf decoration surrounding old, bevelled glass, tall, shaped crest with rosette at each side, raised head of a woman in center; background decoration of strapwork and leafage on a punchwork background; kidney shaped motif at top of cresting and teardrop motifs at either side of head contain crosshatched background; shaped cresting at bottom with leafage decoration over a punched background; raised shell in center; decorative motifs on frame built up with gesso and entire surface gilded; attached to frame are glass sconce arms 1936-558.
