DescriptionMan's cap of white knitted cotton. Cap is worked primarily in stockinette stitch ground, with raised knitted design of zig-zags and intertwined medallions. Two bands of knitted open-work are symmetrically worked on either side of cap, with borders of cable-stitch. Cap is plain stockinette stitch for first 2 1/2" and is covered by a cuff worked in the same pattern as the body of the cap. Cuff, now sewn to cap, is finished with a scalloped edge and fringe. No lining. Note: cuff shows evidence of having been cut off and later restitched.
