DescriptionFooted earthenware mold in the shape of a fish with its head and tail lifted. Scales and eyes are impressed on the inside of the mold, mouth and tail striations are raised. Glaze is orange to brown and is on interior only. Outside bottom and transverse feet are unglazed.Label TextMolds like these were formed by pressing a slab of green, or unfired, clay over a positive form made from wood, plaster, or fired clay.
Markings"Willoughby Smith/Wumelsdorf" is impressed on the bottom.
