DescriptionChest of drawers with a molded top with ox- bow shaped front above a case with four graduated long drawers (no shaping), on ogee bracket feet.Construction: The top of the case is attached to the sides by sliding dovetails; the back is nailed into rabbets on the sides and not attached to the top; the top rail is in a sliding half dovetail in the sides; drawer blades are in sliding dovetails on the sides of the case; the drawer supports are glued into dados on the sides (the bottom pair of supports are nailed to the sides); the bottom board is most likely dovetailed to the bottom board; the feet are glued to the molding around the base and are each supported by a vertical, rectangular glue block; the graduated drawers are of standard dovetail construction with chamfered bottoms slid into dados in the front and sides and nailed along the back.
