DescriptionWrought iron trivet of triangular shape with bellied sides, a curving handle topped with an open heart-shaped terminal and scrolled footed legs. Composed of light, rectangular section bars, the upper end of the handle and its "heart" are nicely beveled.Label TextThe ironing of clothes by hand is as much of a chore nowadays as it was before electricity. A super-hot iron required the users undivided attention. Not only did it have to be kept perfectly clean but it had to be used carefully, or else one risked scorched cloth, burnt skin, or in the worst possible case, a house fire. A simple solution to help avoid disaster was the iron trivet, a basic stand designed to keep the hot iron above any flammable materials.
