White tin glaze, with edges and reverse unglazed, inscribed "CHAMPAIGNE" in manganese.Label TextA sparkling wine from the Champagne region of France was being drunk in England by the middle of the seventeenth century. This bin label is thicker than the others in this collection and relates more to the thickness of a tile. The London attribution is based on the color of the lettering and the glaze.
