Descriptiontwo-handled cupLabel TextThis large cup is unusual for being directly modeled on an earthenware prototype. Homer and Hall illustrate another cup of the same size and design by Wood, although it has a more developed foot of flagon or tankard type.
InscribedOwner's initials "AW" engraved on face of body.
MarkingsTouch mark not apparent Pseudo hallmarks (1 and 2) "W W" with rose below and (3 and 4): griffin's head erased, each within a rectangle with canted corners on face of body below rim (Cotterell 6031; Peal MPM 6032; Homer and Hall 44).
