DescriptionAppearance: Chest of drawers with rectangular top with serpentine front, molded edges (integral, not applied). Four serpentine-front drawers, graduated in size, each with two brasses and one escutcheon of willow pattern. No dust boards. Bead molding applied to stiles and rails. Outer corners of side boards straight. Molded base, also serpentine in front. Straight, tall bracket feet.

Construction: Case sides dovetailed to bottom; top and sides joined with sliding dovetail; horizontal backboards nailed to edge of bottom and rabbet in back of top, sides; cherry and white pine drawer dividers with beads along edges slid into groove front; front edges of case sides covered with thin strip of wood and bead along inside edge at drawers; white pine drawer supports nailed to sides; base molding nailed and glued to bottom and reinforced with three long glue blocks along sides and front; one vertical glue block behind each front foot; rear foot bracket nailed to side bracket and case bottom; original brasses and locks (missing top lock); Drawers have traditional dovetailed construction with side to side drawer bottoms chamfered and slid into dadoes in drawer sides and front, nailed to bottom edge of back; double bead along top edges of drawer sides.
