Label TextAn engraving showing a corner of "WARWICK LANE", with, on the left, the front dome, and "gilded pill" of the old building of the College of Physicians. A numerous party of medical practitioners appears in front, as if approaching the college, or consulting respecting an attack on it. A doctor, who acts as sergeant, drills two little men, one of whom is a drummer, the other plays on bagpipes; a small man, a farrier or horse doctor, wearing a jockey's cap, carrying a riding cane and a satchel which is marked with a horse-shoe, leads the pony of a doctor; the former wears a little cutlas slung over his shoulder, and on his baldrice is written: "D to the Horse M D--A". The man on the pony is in conversation with three other men, while two more are listening; three more follow, one of these is very small indeed. Next pass two men carrying flags, on one of which are: "DELENDA EST OXONIA", and "Delend". The other flag reads "PRO COLLEGIIS SCOTIAE". Four men conclude the procession. Many persons, mostly women, are at the windows of the houses, looking at the "march" of the doctors.
