DescriptionA fife case of sheet brass engraved with the arms of the British East India Company. The case is oval in cross-section with a hinged and latching lid at the top. There are two sets of brass loops on the side, presumably for a strap. An internal iron latch holds the lid closed. The brass surfaces of the inside are not presently lined.
InscribedFront is engraved with the coat of arms of the British East India Company (a shield flanked by lions holding English flags, above a banner reading "AUSPICIO REGIS ET SENATUS ANGLIAE")
