DescriptionSilver gilt box medal for the Peace of Paris, ending the Seven Years War, 1756-1763. Box ends are embossed with laureate, draped & cuirassed busts of George II (to l.) and Geroge III (to r.). Inside the box are 52 paper discs, all once strung together with a length of ribbon, now largely separated. Each intaglio printed disc bears either a scene from the Seven Years War or descriptive text. Also depicted are scenes from the Coronation and wedding of George III and Charlotte. The first disc reads "A SHORT HISTORY IN MINIATURE OF THE ORIGIN AND PROGRESS OF THE LATE WAR FROM ITS COMMENCEMENT TO THE EXCHANGE OF THE RATIFICATION OF PEACE BETWEEN GREAT BRITAIN, FRANCE & SPAIN ON THE 20th OF FEBy. 1763."InscribedObv. - FACTA .
