DescriptionPaper document with hand-written text that reads: "These gentlemen's linen shirts [2004-30 and -31] came from the family of my grandmother's 1st cousin, Sarah Green Wood, d. of Dorcas Storer Green. H.S.F. To be sent to Miss Nathalie Gookin [address in Chicago crossed out] 321 Linden St. Winnetka, Ill."ProvenanceThis came with a number of items from the Fisk, Storer, Gookin, and Green families of New England (and possibly the middle Atlantic states). One of the shirts is marked with the name R. H. Green, for Reuben Hayes Green, born 1783 in New Hampshire and later residing in Maine. The donor received the items from a friend of her mother. The family papers are in the Newberry Library archive in Chicago, Illinois.
