DescriptionChild's pelisse or coat dress of white corded cotton ("dimity.") Garment has standing collar with double ruffle and tie closure at center front. Seven-inch wide ruffled cape covers the shoulders. Long sleeves with two sets of tucks released to elongate sleeves. Full body is gathered to a yoke under the cape and falls to the hem without a defined waistline. Garment opens down front with no closures, except for the neck tie. Skirt ends in hem; skirt retains evidence that one tuck was released for growth.
