DescriptionOne of a pair of leaf-shaped dishes, each with an undulating serrated rim. Each dish is decorated in underglaze blue with a dark edge, white inner border, and blue "veined" ground with curling tendrils and three leaves. Each dish is marked on the bottom with four pseudo Chinese characters.
Label TextThe Bow Porcelain Manufactory is one of the English porcelain factories whose wares were owned and used in an American context. Shards of wares attributed to the Bow Manufactory have been uncovered archaeologically in Williamsburg. Additionally, the factory placed advertisements for their products in American newspapers.
