DescriptionChinese export porcelain punchbowl with hunt scene taken from a set of four engravings after James Seymour. Opaque enamel huntsmen and their pack appear in four stages of a hunt: “Going out in the Morning,” “Brushing into Cover,” “In Full Chase” and “The Death of the Fox”. The scenes play out across a continuous hilly landscape. On the interior, a turquoise-coated huntsman courses on his white steed. A brown-edged, gilt spearhead border repeats around rim and footrim.
