DescriptionVery large carved and gilded pair of looking glasses surmounted by an eagle with outstretched wings. Below the eagle is a round section of mirror surrounded by C scrolls and foliate carving. The main portion of the piece includes a vertical rectangular section of mirror surrounded by C scrolls and foliate carving. At both top corners are carved and gilded female heads over C shaped sections of mirrors. Similar sections of mirrors are visible at the bottom corners with large foliate carving surrounding them. The center of each side has carved floral garlands. The center of the base includes two C scrolls surrounding a foliate carving.ProvenanceTransferred to Collections from the Williamsburg Inn, where it was used for many years.
