DescriptionSpoon: narrow elliptical bowl with rounded double drop and rayed pattern in relief on back; stem with upturned rounded end and short ridge on face, initials DS on back of stem (probably owners).
Label TextTimothy Taylor, who specialized in making spoons, was admitted to the Pewterers' Company upon the completion of his apprenticeship in 1759.


InscribedOwner's initials "DS" stamped on underside of handle.
MarkingsTouch mark a crescent framed by "TIMOTHY·TAYLOR·" in circular arrangement within an outlined circle on underside of handle (Peal MPM 4675). Secondary marks (1) label with "LONDON" within an outlined and serrated oblong rectangle on underside of handle (Peal MPM 4675) and (2) quality "X" with crown above on underside of handle.
