DescriptionLow post bed: short, cylindrical posts (head posts higher than foot posts) topped by mushroom knobs; posts "square" in section where they join rails; cylindrical legs, front surface of which are cut inward below; legs terminate in molded pad feet on high discs; peaked headboard; smaller, peaked footboard; four rectangular rails, molded on outside edges, rabbeted on upper inside edge to accommodate pegs; rails mortised into posts and secured with large bolts (not original); posts, legs, head and footboards covered with brown paint (not original); remnants of dark green show beneath brown.
