DescriptionDressing table box. Shallow, rectangular, sheet-iron box of cyma profile japanned in red and brown tortoiseshell ground wit gilt bands of interlocking circles, trellis and scrolls; the hinged lid set with rectangular enamel plaque depicting an Italian harbor scene of refitting warship on a beach between classical ruin at right and walled city at left in yellow rose brown and blue on white ground within a giltborder and gilt metal mount, interior of black flecked with gold, the underside of lid set with steel looking glass. Brass lock.
