DescriptionSide chair, splat back. Serpentine cresting rail molded on upper edge and terminating in scrolled ears with series of lunettes carved on face; oval medallion, carved with coquillage, centered in top of rail; tapering stiles, flat and fluted on front, rounded at rear; pierced, interlaced splat with pair of scrolled volutes at top; splat mortised into high, molded shoe; square seat frame with molded upper edge with side rails mortised through rear legs; bottom of skirt cut out at front and sides; carved shell at center of front skirt; cabriole front legs, leaf-carved at knees with carving extending to brackets at either side; legs terminate in ball and claw feet; rear legs cylindrical in section, flaring to rear.

Woods: Primary: Mahogany; secondary: seat block combination of white pine and tulip poplar.
