DescriptionClothespress in three sections; open rectangular cornice composed of broad band of cove molding at front and sides with row of dentils at center and plain rectangular rear section; upper section of cupboard has flat rectangular top fitted with row of supporting blocks to stabilize cornice; cupboard has straight sides and two large rectangular doors, each with central recessed panel with molded edge; band of molding along left side of right door; doors open on original box hinges to reveal interior fitted with three shelves with molded front edges; center of top of lower section is recessed but top section does not fit into it but sits on top of it; lower section has straight sides; front fitted with a pair of doors which are essentially square and have recessed central panels; remains of a strip of molding along left side of right door; doors open on original box hinges; narrow band of molding at base around front and sides above four small ogee bracket feet; outside of cupboard painted gray/white; feet and two bands of cornice molding are painted black over white; pair of brass bound keyholes at center of inside edge of each door; small wood turn catch at inside center edge of bottom of left door.
Inscribed"Lewis" penciled on left front corner of molding around bottom section; remnants of late 19th century newspaper stuck to top of bottom shelf in upper section.
