DescriptionTall cylindrical bottle with strong shoulder and small cylindrical neck. Bluish tin glaze decorated in blue with typical cherub cartouche and inscribed "OX SCILLIT"; a 4 on the bottom.
Label TextOxymel Scilliticum was made from the bulb of a sea onion, which was mixed with clarified honey and vinegar and reduced to a syrupy consistency. Ancient Greek and Roman physicians used oxymel to treat chest ailments.
Inscribed"OX SCILLIT" on face; a 4 on the base.
