DescriptionSquat bulbous pot with everted rim and cylindrical foot. Bluish tin glaze with partial glaze on base. Inscribed in blue: "DELESCOT".
Label TextThis ointment pot is boldly inscribed with the name "DELESCOT." Delescot is known to have been in business in London at 19 Duke Street, Pall Mall, in 1749 because in that year he patented his conserve of myrtle opiate. A similar pot in the Bristol Museum is inscribed with the same name in gold lettering.
