DescriptionManuscript document accompanying the four counterfeit notes discussed in the text.Inscribed"New London Comity fr New London June 1st. 1790 - Then personally appeared Stephen Mfrom Elijah Smith of said New London for true & genuine Bills the sameaynard of said New London & made solemn oath that three twenty Shillings Bills (made in immitation of) Connecticut State money this day lodged with the Subscriber dated the first day of June 1780 he rec'd from James Daniels of said New London. One forty Shilling Bill dated March 1780 of the same money & lodged as aforesaid he rec'd the same now appearing now to be Counterfeit, & that one piece made in immitation of a Spanish Milled Dollar date 1770 which likewise appears to be counterfeit he rec'd. Zebadiah Bolles of sd. New London"
