DescriptionConventional turned wooden handle fitted into a two-section tapering round silver tube that terminates at the small end with a knob finial. Above the finial, three small shaped silver blades equidistant from each other, soldered against flats on the round silver tube.
Label TextA chocolate pot features a removable or pivoting finial in its lid to accommodate a stirring rod or chocolate mill. These were new forms during the Baroque period.
MarkingsMarked at top of silver shaft: "GA" beneath crown within oval for William Gamble (Grimwade 738). On one blade: date letter, a courthand "o" for 1709/10. On one blade: Leopard's head erased for London; on one blade: figure of Britannia to indicate silver content.
