DescriptionTwo-gallon salt-glazed stoneware ovoid storage jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder and everted rim, the shoulders with open loop handles applied horizontally. Decorated in cobalt on the front and back with a boldly slip-trailed vine motif featuring four coils, often referred to as "watchspring" decoration, and small leafy accents. Additional coils descend from each handle terminal and flank a slip-trailed number "2" indicating the gallon capacity of the jar.InscribedUnder each handle, a slip-trailed number "2" indicating the gallon capacity of the jar.
