DescriptionCreamware beaker of flaring cylindrical shape decorated in underglaze blue with a European-style house amidst a landscape. The top rim decorated with a faint border of underglaze blue.
Label TextThe beaker is a more common survival in silver, but is known in glass, porcelain, and pottery. The cream colored earthenware version, such as this example, has been recovered archaeologically in England and America and is referenced in period documents and graphics. The form in pottery could be described as the Solo® cup of the late 18th century. As such, today the ceramic form is a rare survival above ground.
