DescriptionSilver covered jug or pitcher: Flat circular base supports ovoid body surmounted by cylindrical neck with wide, everted pouring lip opposite angular seamed hollow broken scrolled handle. Stepped, domed lid with tall open scrolled thumbpiece, hinged with shaped drop juncture at top of handle. Bands of horizontal reeding form hoops at base, upper body, and neck; lower body ornamented with tightly spaced, round-topped reedsInscribedEngraved under lip (slightly off center) “P” in shaded sprigged script
MarkingsMarked on base in relief: 1) “T WARNER” in rectangle with pellet after “T”; 2) an eagle’s head erased facing left in an oval; and 3) “STERG” in rectangle with superscript “G” over pellet
