DescriptionThis is a small silk embroidered picture in shades of blue, green, brown, tan, and cream on a cream-colored silk ground. The picture consists of a cemetery scene with an urn on a plinth, cross, grassy knolls, blue floral sprigs, three evergreen trees, and one large tree on the right side. The scene is enclosed in a border of scalloped couched metallic threads and outer border made up of a double row of finely worked chain stitches. The penciled inscription below the scene is indecipherable.The embroidered picture is framed in a gilded wooden frame that has a metal ring for hanging in the center top; it is under glass.
